Family Home Evening: Don't eat Pete

I was on song, so we sang, "I'm so glad when Daddy Comes Home"
Tyson read a scripture.
Jenny taught the family home evening lesson tonight about doing secret service for others. We all picked names out of a basket of someone in the family that we'll serve in a secret way.
Then, for game, we played don't eat Pete. It's a game where there is a laminated paper with pictures of several animals including an elephant, beaver, rabbit, fish etc. You put a piece of candy, in this case raisinettes, on each of the animals. Then the person that's it goes out and everybody picks who Pete is, which is one of the animals. The person that's it comes back in and starts to eat the candy one by one. If the person starts to eat the candy on the animal that is Pete, everyone yells, "Don't eat Pete!" If "it" doesn't stop soon enough and eats the candy, they don't get the rest. If the person that's "it" doesn't eat the candy, they get the rest. When I was it, I picked up the whole paper, rolled it so the candy would all slide to the middle into one bunch and let it slide down together into my mouth. I ate Pete! :)
Then we popped popcorn and watched "Iron Man" downstairs. That is one really cool movie. I like the part where he rescues all the people in the village the most. Hard not to like a guy that takes out twenty or so bad guys without hurting a single kid, huh...
Family home evenings are fun.
